Spring Street

This project was a study to determine the potential development yield with the redevelopment of a conventional strip shopping center into an urban, pedestrian-friendly environment with a mixture of retail, office, and residential uses.  

The design sought to break the site into a clear pattern of blocks, streets, and buildings that are better integrated into the surrounding historic urban context. A green is the focal point of the redevelopment with street level retail and restaurant space activated the green and surrounding sidewalks. Parking is tucked behind and below buildings that intensify as they step away from the nearby low-rise context.
